Masjid in Rural Sub-Saharan Africa

Imagine a village like this. A mother wakes before dawn, wrapping her youngest child against the cool morning air, and walks to the clearing at the edge of the village. There is no masjid here, just a circle of flattened earth beneath a baobab tree where the faithful gather.
