Why SDQA exists

A well, a masjid or a home built in someone's name begins with an intention. We started SDQA to see that intention through: good projects, serving real needs, built to the best standard, with the photographs, the location and the completion report you'd expect.

The hard part is choosing well. The project that raises the most money and the project a community most needs are often different, so we start with the need and check it's real before anything goes ahead.

The teams who build our projects have delivered for some of the UK's largest Muslim charities, so the work meets the standard their trustees ask for and the reporting their supporters expect.

We call these projects SDQAvestments: charitable investments for your Akhirah.

Why we chose to be a CIC

We could have registered as a charity. We chose a Community Interest Company because it lets us work the way you'd want your own project handled.

   We build what you ask for. A charity can only work within its own set purposes. As a CIC we can take on any lawful project that serves a community, so we design the project you have in mind rather than offering only our own appeals.

   Run properly, by people paid to do it well. A CIC can pay the people who run it, so you get a professional team, openly accountable to the CIC Regulator.

   Locked to the mission by law. A CIC has an asset lock that can never be removed. Our assets can only be used for the community, and if SDQA ever closed they would pass to another asset-locked body. The CIC Regulator checks every year that we're still serving the community.

   No dividends. SDQA pays no dividends. Every surplus goes back into the work.

   One honest price. The price you see is the full cost of your project, delivered and reported, including our own costs. No promise that every penny goes to the project, kept up by money from somewhere else.

   Free to focus on your project. We don't have to shape the work around a grant timetable or an appeals calendar, so when your project is ready we can get on and build it.

We're registered in England and Wales, company number 16543744. The reward of your gift belongs to you and Allah; our structure has no bearing on that.
