Do I need experience or qualifications?
No. Only one of the six routes asks for a professional skill, and that one is optional by design. The rest need the intention to contribute and a few reliable hours.
How much time will it actually take?
Every route states its own commitment on its card, from a one-off afternoon up to a six to eight week project. We would rather you picked the smaller one and finished it.
Is there a minimum commitment?
It depends which route you pick. The project-based ones run to a finish and then you are free. Writing, filming and skills work is piece by piece, so you take what you want when you have time. None of them is a standing rota.
Do I have to commit to a building project?
No. Two of the six routes attach to a named build. The other four are fundraising, content, introductions and professional skills, and none of them needs you to take on a construction project.
What happens after I send the form?
Someone from the team reads it and comes back to you for a short conversation. Then you are matched to live work with a named contact.
Can I choose what I work on?
On the Signature route, yes. You pick the masjid, water bore or family home you want your name on. On the other routes we match you to whatever is live and suits what you told us.
I am a student. Is that a problem?
No. Student societies are one of the best places to run an appeal, and we credit content work, so it is worth having on a portfolio.
Is this paid?
No. These are volunteer routes. What you get back is on this page, and none of it is a wage.
