I've been involved in aid delivery for years. Getting projects done is work I know, and SDQA is the next step in that work for me.
I'm also funding my own project through SDQA. I want to continue a legacy for my father, through something that will be useful to people for years to come, insha'Allah.
If you're thinking about a project for your own mum or dad, you'll understand why I want to follow it through properly.
What a finished project looks like
There is a photograph in our Wakiso water project report of a boy leaning over the bore pump, with water running into a container. The report includes photographs of the installation too.
That is the connection I want families to have with their projects. You should be able to see the work, know where it has happened and understand what your funding has helped deliver.
A lot needs to be worked out before that photograph can be taken. What does the community need? Is the proposed water project suitable for the location? What will it cost to complete?
Those are questions for us to work through with the delivery team. You shouldn't have to become an expert in bore pumps to help a community get water.
Bring us the idea
Perhaps you and your siblings have talked about funding a well together. The intention is there, but nobody has worked out the next step.
Tell us what you're thinking and the budget you have in mind, if you know it. We'll help you explore the options and put a proposal together. You can then share it with your family, ask questions and decide whether to go ahead.
I'm looking forward to doing this for my father. I'd be pleased to help you get a project started for someone important to you too.
Tell us about your water project. We can start with a conversation.
